I'm interested in getting the Kakwa 55 but I'm not certain what size would work best as I'm right between sizes. I'm 160lbs 6'2" with a 20" torso and about a 29" waist. Would it be … I got a Kakwa 55 in Large. I have a 30 inch waist (US pant size, not actual circumference). I decided that the hip belt was too large. When cinched, I had less than 2” of webbing on either side of clip. As the webbing tightens, the angle between the webbing and the hip belt increases, causing uneven stress on the attachment points/seams. So comparing a small torso 55 to a medium torso 40, the unrolled right is 34” on the 55 vs 33” on the 40. But the load lifters are at 21” on the 55 vs 22” on the 40. So you can roll the 55 down 13” vs 11” on the 40. The hip belt is fine on the kakwa, not as grippy as the exos but good enough for me. The pocket zippers are awesome on the hip belt. It is not uncomfortable for me at all.
